Mapping and understanding the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and getting stakeholder buy-in and participation, is one of the first steps to create a collaborative, cohesive entrepreneurial community. Fraser Consulting has developed an ecosystem mapping and stakeholder engagement process based on practical experience of building communities in Africa (for example Silicon Cape) coupled with international best practice. Getting stakeholders involved throughout the process is critical, to ensure that they support the organisation and the end result.
In addition, Fraser Consulting because of its experience and involvement with entrepreneurial projects and programmes, has participated in a number of research based projects and reports, including assisting the Wold Bank in drafting a report and strategy on Digital Economy for South Africa.
Examples of this work include mapping the fintech ecosystem in Mauritius for the Mauritius Africa Fintech Hub, coauthoring the VC4A South Africa Ecosystem Report and more recently, publishing infographics on funding options for South African SMEs and start-ups affected by Covid-19.
